In March, Clockwork completed its move to Forge, the Atlassian's modern foundation for the next generation of Jira and Confluence apps. For most customers, the whole migration was a single click in your admin panel. As smooth as it can be!
Now we're exploring the next step: making Clockwork part of Runs on Atlassian, the highest trust tier in Atlassian's Marketplace program.
What the Forge Platform enables
- Stronger security and trust. Clockwork now goes through Atlassian's most rigorous review process.
- Performance built for scale. Years of worklog history, complex reports, and growing teams keep running smoothly.
From here, new versions roll out automatically. You don't update Clockwork again.
What's now possible
The best part of being on Forge isn't what changed for you today, it's what it lets us build next.
This week we launched new Rovo AI agents for both Clockwork and Portfolio, bringing AI-powered insights into Jira through a conversational interface. With Clockwork now on Forge, it's also much easier for us to build features that connect them, so what you do in one shows up where you need it in the other. Expect more of that.
What's next: Runs on Atlassian
Runs on Atlassian is Atlassian's highest tier - awarded to apps that meet its most demanding bar for security, integration, and customer trust. It's where we want Clockwork to be. But we're going to take our time getting there. Running app backends fully on Atlassian's infrastructure is a newer part of the Forge platform, and it's still maturing. From our conversations with other Marketplace vendors working through the same questions, the consensus is consistent: getting this right matters more than getting there fast. We'll move when we're confident any next step keeps Clockwork as fast and reliable as it is today - and ideally makes it better.
