Backlog Pro will be discontinued as of June 10th, 2023.
Why Are We Doing This?
Backlog Pro was born as a hackathon project intended to fill an internal need. We released it as a free app with intentions of developing it further if it showed potential in the Marketplace. In the meantime, Atlassian introduced Jira Product Discovery in April of 2021. The advent of Jira Product Discovery made Backlog Pro redundant. We develop products to enhance functionality, not to duplicate it. Therefore, we have decided that it’s time to retire Backlog Pro.
What Will Happen If I Try to the App after June 10th?
Backlog Pro will continue to work for current customers until June 10th, 2023. After that, when you click on the Backlog Pro option, nothing will happen. You will need to uninstall the app in order to remove the Backlog Pro option from the Apps menu.
How Should I Prioritize My Backlog?
You still have multiple options for prioritizing your backlog. There are several options in the Marketplace, in addition to Jira Product Discovery which is currently in Beta, but is anticipated to become generally available within the next few months.
